At Southwest, we understand how important it is to connect with others. Whether it’s work, family, friends or even church, connecting with others is a vital part of belonging. We have several different ways in which we encourage our church family to connect with others.
We encourage each of our members to get involved in their communities. One of the best ways to share the gospel is by getting involved in our communities. Whether it’s volunteering at a local school, serving at a shelter, partnering with a local ministry, or joining us in one of our outreach events, there are several ways to connect with the people of the community so that we can share the love of Christ with our neighbors.
In addition to serving our community, we believe it is important that we serve the body of believers as well. Each of us plays a vital role in the ministries that go on at Southwest. Serving on the greeting team, working with the students or children’s ministry, or the upkeep of the church building are just a few of the ways that we can connect with each other through service to one another.
Small Groups are a vital part of what we do at Southwest. In our Small Groups, we study God’s Word, break bread, fellowship, serve, pray, and care for one another in many different ways. If you'd like to get plugged into the Southwest family, joining a small group is a great way. We have groups that meet on various days from Aledo through Benbrook and Fort Worth and into Burleson. For more information on joining a group, feel free to browse this list or contact our church office.
Being a member of a church is more than just Sunday attendance. A member is part of a spiritual community that supports and cares for one another through service, sacrifice, and responsibility for their church and community. Members at Southwest are served by the elders and staff of the church through prayer, counsel, teaching, care, and accountability. In becoming a member of Southwest Christian Church, you are acknowledging our church as your church family, agreeing to submit to the leadership that God has put in place as well as joining us on our mission. We regularly have an ALIGN luncheon after church that helps you to briefly understand our history and beliefs. In addition, we also have a BECOME class during Sunday School once per month that you can attend to learn even more about our church and what it means to be a member. If you are interested in attending either one, please contact the church office.
Online Member Community
We have a very active social presence online and enjoy utilizing technology as another way of staying connected to each other. We utilize e360 software to manage our member directory and many of us participate in our Facebook Southwest Community group. Those can be accessed through the following links:
